Arc de Triomphe
The Arc de Triomphe is a monumental triumphal arch located in the heart of Paris, France. Commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806, it was designed by the architect Jean-François Chalgrin and completed in 1836. The arch stands at the western end of the famous Champs-Élysées avenue and honors the French soldiers who fought and died in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. The massive structure is adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures, including the famous "La Marseillaise" relief, depicting the allegory of Liberty leading the people.
