Pantheon
The Panthéon is a neoclassical monument located in the Latin Quarter of Paris. Originally built as a church dedicated to Saint Genevieve, the patron saint of Paris, it was later repurposed as a mausoleum to honor distinguished French citizens. The interior of the Panthéon features a large central dome and impressive sculptures, including a famous statue of Saint Genevieve. Among those interred in the Panthéon are notable figures such as Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo, and Marie Curie. The building also serves as a symbol of French national identity and has been the site of important historical events, such as the installation of the remains of the Unknown Soldier after World War I.
